Ilgın Yıldız was born in Ankara and lives in Istanbul. She is the author of two short story collections and, with Kerem Savaş, a young adult novel. Her stories and essays have appeared in Turkish literary magazines and newspapers, including Varlık, Virgül, Cumhuriyet, Yasakmeyve, and Siyahi, and internationally in Asymptote, Trinity Journal of Literary Translation, and Miskatonian. She has translated more than thirty books from English into Turkish, among them works by Slavoj Žižek, Jacqueline Rose, Adrian Tchaikovsky, and Edna O’Brien. She holds degrees in English Literature, Writing and Literature, and Continental Philosophy, and is pursuing a PhD in Philosophy.
